The current economic climate can be challenging for many individuals and families. Newark Presbytery does not directly fund emergency needs for rental assistance or grocery vouchers and meals. However, there are several agencies through-out this local community in Montclair and Bloomfield as well as Newark, East Orange and other’s in Essex County that support emergency needs every single day. Attached are two lists for such services. If you or someone you know is in need of rental and or utility payment assistance, a food pantry or an occasional meal, please share the attached information. Le Casa de Don Pedro administers the State Funded Weatherization Program in Essex County. The Weatherization Assistance Program was created to increase energy efficiency and reduce the burden of high-energy costs. The energy efficiency measures include: a new refrigerator replacement (if necessary), carbon monoxide testing and carbon monoxide detectors, fluorescent light bulbs, heating system repairs or replacement and many other measures to help you save money on your high-energy bill.
